Der gute Olli Oksala aus Finnland gilt als einer der besten Kenner der frühen Gitarren von Eric.
Hier ein aktuelles Posting von ihm über die Les Paul "Beano", die Eric tatsächlich vor 55 Jahren gestohlen wurde.
Dazu eine tolle Bildzusammenstellung von ihm:
Eric’s first Gibson Les Paul Standard, the one he used with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers (and The Glands and Eric Clapton’s Powerhouse) was stolen exactly 55 years ago July 1966, during Cream’s first rehearsals.
There seems to be a belief around, that he stopped using Les Pauls right there, but of course that is not true.
Even with Cream he was seen with at least 6-7 different Les Pauls and used some of them also with Blind Faith and Derek & Dominos.
Eric kept on searching for the perfect replacement for the “Beano” Les Paul and around 1983 he bought a 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard, that he says is closest to Beano he has ever used. He still has that guitar.
