EC Live on Facebook!?!?!

Beitrag von Louisblues »

Tach zusammen,

https://www.facebook.com/events/2734576 ... tn__=-UK-R

https://www.facebook.com/UpcomingEvents ... e_internal

Hi Stevie, hi all,

A Note About Social Media Scams ...
This note is from Team EC to alert fans about fake pages, accounts and events on social media. There are two types: those that announce streaming events and those that impersonate a public figure. We became aware of a streaming concert announced for 18 May, live from a venue in London. We worked with the social platform to have the account, and those behind it, permanently removed from the platform.

Fake streaming events are announced as free online concerts, often using an actual tour date. A page may list dozens of events for many different artists. The events never happen. Those behind the page are mining personal data from all those who post about, "like" or "share" the event page. The people behind the scam may even request registration on a third-party website to access the event. If you come across such a listing, always go to the official website or verified social media channels of the artist. The places to go to for official EC concert and event news are ericclapton.com, EC's verified social channels on Facebook and Instagram, and whereseric.com.

Genuine celebrity Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts are verified and have a blue circle with a white check mark next to the name of the artist, band or public figure, like the one above this article. Fake celebrity pages work like this: the person behind it copies the celebrity's official profile photo and "wallpaper" to make it look real. They then private message or reply to an unsuspecting fan from the fake page after the fan posts on a verified page. The message from the "celebrity" is often poorly written and requests personal information and contact details as the "celebrity" wants to communicate directly. The goal is to get personal data. Messages from fake pages should be ignored.
